2016 Greater Atlanta-Athens Combined Federal Campaign
“Be the Change You Want to See"
Acting Regional Administrator
General Services Administration,
Southeast Sunbelt Region
It is an honor to serve as the 2016 Chair for the Greater AtlantaAthens Combined Federal Campaign (CFC).
The CFC is the largest workplace giving campaign in the world. Since the first campaign in 1964, federal employees have donated over $7 billion to eligible charities all over the globe. Last year, the AtlantaAthens Combined Federal Campaign contributed $3.65 million and we hope to have an even greater impact this year.
The 2016 Greater AtlantaAthens CFC got off to an early start because we assembled a great team of committed federal employees just like you who are working hard to establish the infrastructure for a successful campaign. However, our efforts rely on you!
As public servants, the CFC provides us with an opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to improving the quality of life for others beyond our roles in the federal government. Because of the work that we do on behalf of the American people on a daily basis, many of us have a unique awareness of the needs that exist in our communities and abroad. We should not be comfortable with just being aware of the needs of people all over the world who are facing hunger, homelessness, illness, barriers to education and other challenging concerns. We should do our part to respond to those needs because “no one is an island” and whatever threatens the quality of life for our neighbors also has the potential to have the same impact on us. Your donations to the CFC provide an opportunity for us to “Be the Change We Want to See” which has been voted as this year’s campaign theme.
During the 2016 CFC solicitation period, I ask you to consider giving through the CFC because:
your donation will help someone and we will all feel better for it;
our collective effort demonstrates that Federal employees care about our communities;
it’s easy (making a CFC contribution is as simple as completing a pledge card or as convenient as going online);
choosing payroll deduction gives you the option to spread your contribution across the entire year; and you contribution is tax deductible.
Please join me and the 2016 AtlantaAthens CFC team’s effort to, not just meet a goal, but make a positive change. I encourage you to review the 2016 CFC Contributor’s Guide where you can choose from a vast crosssection of charities that suit your own philanthropic interests and qualifications. The guide lists local, national and international eligible nonprofits that will benefit from your contribution.
I thank you in advance for your support and look forward to working with you as we embark on a successful 2016 Combined Federal Campaign.
